Tigani introduces ACER Task Force to streamline construction
Tigani describes the Affordable and Efficient Construction Reform (ACER) Task Force as part of the block-by-block housing plan, working with industry and agency partners to identify code and operational changes that speed construction and lower costs without compromising safety.
To further support housing and development, the department recently launched a related effort, the Affordable and Efficient Construction Reform Task Force.
The ACER Task Force is an initiative aimed at streamlining the development process in New York City and a major component of the administration's block-by-block housing plan.
The department is working with industry and agency partners to evaluate multiple facets of the agency's regulatory framework to identify areas for improvement, to speed up construction, to make it less expensive to build in the city, but not compromise safety.
The goal is to develop recommendations for operational changes and modifications to the city's construction codes, a process that's working in parallel to the important work of our code committee process.
