Hudson asks about veteran-specific housing resources
Hudson asks if HUD-VASH and supportive housing are sufficient; Russell says HUD-VASH vouchers have declined, the city prioritizes veterans for CityFHEPS, and uses supportive housing and one-shot deals.
Okay, and would you say there are sufficient veteran-specific housing?
resources, including supportive housing and HUD-VASH vouchers to meet the current need.
So as Commissioner Dalton indicated, the number of HUD-VASH vouchers have declined.
So the resources with respect to the HUD-VASH, again, the federal government is responsible.
But as it relates to the city subsidies that we have, specifically City for HEPS, we do prioritize our veterans with City for HEPS.
So they have those vouchers.
We also have them complete the CAPS survey if they qualify supportive housing.
So between the supportive housing city, perhaps, if a veteran is over income, you know, we do assist with the enhanced one-shot deal or the SOTA program.
Again, these are all housing resources that we utilize to assist our veterans in moving into permanency.
Thank you.
