Paladino criticizes spending priorities and demands nonprofit 990s
Paladino compares $1.86 billion for migrants to veterans' subhuman conditions, demands 990s from nonprofits, criticizes NDAs, and says she is embarrassed and will keep pressure on the administration.
Other thing.
We have now put aside $1.86 billion to house illegal immigrants in this country.
$1.86 billion.
Billion dollars so that they
You go into hotels, have private bathrooms, kitchenettes, I'm sure.
And our veterans are going to live in subhuman conditions.
It's pathetic.
What I heard here today is making me sick.
There is absolutely zero reason for this to happen.
Also, we've got non-for-profits financing this.
I want the 990s on these non-for-profits.
I want to know who they are.
I want to see how much money these non-for-profits are making off of one shelter, homeless shelter, for our veterans, our veterans.
This is absolutely disgusting and disgraceful.
I'm embarrassed for all of you.
And when Julie went down there and visited with Phil, and they saw what they saw, and they had to send an NDA?
Ludicrous.
As elected officials, we owe it to our fellow citizens, homeless, veterans, whatever, to know what's going on.
The other thing is to not have mental health facilities set up for our veterans inside of these homeless shelters is also another disgrace.
There are so many layers to this cake.
How everybody's very calm here is wonderful, and I applaud you all.
But let me tell you something.
Pull your act together.
Because going forward, we are going to be breathing all over you.
Wasteful spending, $1.86 billion going to illegals instead of to our veterans.
Why?
Why?
And you're going to pay $4.3 million to fix a roof and displace seven veterans?
We're supposed to be happy about that.
Proud of you for doing that.
I'm not proud of you.
I'm embarrassed for you.
Our veterans deserve top-notch treatment.
And that's all I have to say.
I got a press conference to do.
Bye-bye.
