Robert Pauls testifies on VA funding and FOIA delays
Pauls says the VA and GPD office will not provide reports except through FOIA, information is not available until December, raises the lack of a dedicated women veterans residence, and refrains from presenting his proposal without data.
Good afternoon.
My name is Robert Pauls.
I am an independent veterans advocate.
I'd like to thank all of the participants here today.
My intention today was to rely upon the VA determination, the actual report from the VA, and I also
communicated with the VAGPD office.
Neither are willing to provide any report regarding the reduction of funding of the BAVR except through FOIA, which is currently not available.
My information is that the information from either office will not be available until December.
The other issue that I had was New York City.
DHS not having a dedicated residence for women's issue, which is a minor issue here, but it's been a large one.
On August the 24th, I distributed an introductory proposal.
Again, not having the information which I've received here today with regard to DHS and also DVS and DSS
documentation provided today, I will refrain.
from presenting that until I have some specific statistical and actual reports, particularly the legal aspects of
the access to Borden Avenue by the
Council of New York, as well as VSOs and other issues, because that has been a major problem.
I'd like to thank everyone.
Bye-bye.
Thank you, sir.
Yep, go ahead.
We'll go boop, boop, boop, boop.
Yep.
Close to the mic, if you would.
