Council Member Ariola supports extension, warns of precedent
Council Member Joann Ariola aligns with Paladino, arguing for extended time for horse owners and warning that if the referendum passes, other industries could be targeted next.
All right, anyone else would like to speak on the amendments today?
All right, Councilmember Areola.
Thank you so much.
I do align myself with the comments made by my colleague, Vicki Palladino.
Each and every one of them.
There should be an extended time because we only have what ifs for the horse owners, for their horses, and for their livelihood.
And I say further to all of you here in this chamber, what if...
In November, on November 3rd, the referendums pass, and they start to excise us as they're trying to do.
Who will be next?
What industry will be targeted next?
And that's what we have to look at.
Not what happened 19 years ago, but what's happening now, because it will define what happens in the future.
Thank you for the time, Majority Leader.
Speaker Menon, would you like to make remarks?
Or is...
No, I'm not.
