Chair asks what changes Intro 1104 requires; McKenzie says it aligns with practice
Brooks-Powers asks what resources, training, or procedural changes DOP would need for Intro 1104. McKenzie says much of the bill aligns with DOP business practices and the Family Court Act, but DOP has recommendations, such as changing the adult term 'PSI' to fit family court.
We try to gather information on how the young person is functioning within the community.
All those things, and to let them know this is what we're taking into consideration when we're making a determination.
We also let them know just that the process is voluntary, right, and that they don't have to participate if they don't want to.
But we do give them the notice in hand, but we also have a conversation once we sit with them in person.
Thank you.
What resources, staff training, or procedural changes would the department need to implement in show 1104?
What resources, staff training, or procedural changes would the department need to implement in Tro 1104?
So what changes would you need to do in order to be in compliance with this local law?
What is intro?
I don't know if we require any procedural trainings.
A lot of what's in 1104.
Changes, not trainings.
Oh.
Changes.
A lot of what's in 1104 already aligns with much of our business practices and notices that we're required to give.
By the Family Court Act.
Now, there may be certain recommendations that we have that we think can bring 1104 more in alignment with our business practices and the wordings of, for example, the Family Court Act.
