Goodwin on rebuilding relationships with judges, providers, and NEON stakeholders
Goodwin says DOP cannot do the work alone and is rebuilding relationships with judges, service providers, and community organizations. She says DOP has met with judges to restore court liaison offices, paid overdue contracts, and reestablished NEON stakeholder groups.
Lastly, we know we cannot do this work alone.
Here at Probation, community is not only the neighborhoods our clients call home, but also the broader community of neighborhood-based organizations, businesses, nonprofits,
government agencies, judges, and other stakeholders who are key partners in this work.
Rebuilding those trusted relationships is not only the right thing to do, but necessary to ensure our clients have what they need to succeed.
Already this year, we have met with the judges to begin restoring our court liaison offices and family court.
We have paid long overdue and even elapsed contracts with struggling service providers.
We are rebuilding our Neighborhood Opportunity Networks, NEON model, by reestablishing our NEON stakeholder groups, ensuring community voice is part of community decision making.
Because when probation and the larger community are working together, anything is possible.
