Morano asks about employment program completion rates; Eusebio cites 60-70%
Morano asks whether the CDL success story is representative and what percentage of participants complete employment and rehabilitation programs. Eusebio says DOP sees a 60-70% completion rate but wants better tracking, and Goodwin says CUNY ISLG will help evaluate outcomes.
Let me ask you about one of the success stories that you mentioned involving a probation client who completed commercial driver's license training and received two job offers paying more than $80,000 a year.
And that's terrific.
And I'd love to hear more success stories like that.
But I also think taxpayers are entitled to know whether these are isolated success stories or representative of broader results.
Of the people participating in your employment and rehab programs, what percentage successfully complete them, find employment, and then avoid a new arrest?
Well, obviously, we're looking here today, obviously, so we're not going to speak to the past, at least under the leadership of Commissioner Goodwin.
We are encouraged by the fact that we're seeing a decrease all around in terms of things, people engaging in negative outcomes, right?
To say who is completing the program and who is getting it, we see a 60%, 70% completion rate as it relates to programming.
We want to do better in terms of keeping track of that.
So that's part of the framework that we're sort of building to sort of be able to tell you apple to apple.
Obviously, we don't have a cohort, so it's fluid.
We get new cases every day, but we're encouraged by what we've seen thus far.
And I appreciate it.
And that's the reason why we're working with CUNY.
And, you know, I, yeah.
I-S-L-G.
I always get that.
I-S-L-G.
And so we can start looking at that and we can come and report more in terms of, and also hiring different consultants to look at what we're doing
