Restler asks about ATI capacity and expected population reduction
Restler stresses the crisis and asks about the capacity of new ATI programs and expected population reduction. Popper says Families Rising will add about 20 youth at a time and 40 over a year, while Exalt will expand by 20 youth at a time and she will provide exact totals.
I'm always near.
Thank you, Chair.
I really just want to underscore a point that the chair made a few moments ago, which is this is a crisis.
And I appreciate, Commissioner, you agreeing with that.
And we really want to see an even more urgent and robust response from the administration in light of the recognition that we have a crisis on our hands.
I am, I'm just, I really want to focus, sorry, I don't mean to pause for too long, therefore it was a pregnant pause.
I want to focus on reducing the population and what we can do together.
So, Ms.
Popper, you referenced a couple of the ATI programs in response to questions from Council Member Nurse that are being rolled out next month.
Are you able to speak to the capacity of those programs and the anticipated reduction in the population that we should see from these programs coming online?
Yeah, so the two programs I mentioned earlier, Families Rising, we're going to be increasing their capacity by about 20 at a time, 40 in a year.
Exalt, which is the one that pairs case management with school support, paid internships, and career pipelines, they are going to be expanding by 20 young people at a time and over the course of a year.
work with young people for two years post-20 young people at a time to what number total?
So I can get you the exact number.
I believe they were starting around 100.
So I'll get you the exact number of where they're going to land.
