Stevens asks for funding details on ATI expansions
Stevens asks for funding details for each program in the administration's announcement, including units of appropriation and budget codes. Administration witnesses give amounts for Families Rising, Exalt, Fortune Society, and Center for Community Alternatives, and say contracts will be backdated to October 1 and appear in the November plan.
The administration announces new investments, including expanding alternative to detention incarceration plan and non-secure.
Can you outline the funding for each program mentioned in this press release and each agency's budget, including units of appropriation and budget codes?
Yes.
So as we've talked about before, the Families Rising program is one of those.
There's an additional $344,000 that's being put into that, taking that budget from approximately $1.6 million to $2 million for the Families Rising program.
The budget code for that is 6020.
Then the EXALT program, sorry, was there another question beyond budget code or?
Including unit appropriation.
Unit appropriation for that one is 006.
So the EXALT program has an additional $412,000 per year.
That's taking it from approximately $1.1 million to $1.5 million.
Unit of appropriation, again, 006 and budget code 6020.
We have also included in that investment that was announced, Fortune Society.
which has an additional roughly $800,000 that was added to its budget for in-custody transitional programming as well as in-community reentry programming.
And the unit and the budget code remain the same for both of those, for both Fortune and then the Center for Community Alternatives, which had an additional $618,000 added to it,
that all will be backdated in their contracts to October 1st.
When were those resources added to the budget and will we see adjustments related to the announcement in the November plan?
Yes, according to OMB, they will be in the November plan.
They are added to Mach J's budget as the contracts are registered.
