Q&A

Chair asks about solicitations released/awarded

New York City Council · Oct 27, 2026 · starts 1:07:10 · 1 min 34 sec

Won notes NYC Talent previously said over 200 procurements were on the street and the program could reach $20 billion annually. She asks how many solicitations with goals have been released and awarded. Harry says 528 registered contracts worth $13.3 billion and 362 procurements worth $18.4 billion released.

Julie Won

Okay, in February, New York City Talent testified that you all were over 200 procurements out already on the street, and that the program could reach upwards of $20 billion a year.

Julie Won

As of June 30th, registered contracts with community hiring goals totaled $2 billion.

Julie Won

How many solicitations with community hiring goals have been released to date and how many have been awarded?

Douglas Harry

So I can give you the number on registered contracts.

Douglas Harry

And right now, and this was actually as of last week, so it probably went up a little bit, but we had 528 registered contracts for a total value of $13.3 billion.

Douglas Harry

And so as you know, Chair, the procurement process is not always like...

Douglas Harry

Exactly the same across every single agency and it varies.

Douglas Harry

And so while the last reporting cycle had the data that we published in that one, we've since seen a spike of contracts that have been registered in this last quarter.

Douglas Harry

And so we anticipate, or we know that the next publication, the numbers will go up quite a bit in terms of registered contracts and registered

Douglas Harry

contract value.

Douglas Harry

In total, right now in terms of procurements, in procurement we have 362 procurements that have been released valued at $18.4 billion so far.

Douglas Harry

And again, that's reflective of our initial phased rollout and ramping up these contracts.

Douglas Harry

So we're excited that that's a lot of

Douglas Harry

contracts.

Douglas Harry

which means there's a lot of vendors and more job opportunities getting driven to the system.
