Chair yields to Wong; Wong asks how contracts are identified
Won yields to Council Member Phil Wong. Wong asks how OCH identifies contracts with community hiring goals and what it does to reach contracts without goals.
Okay, and I'm also going to pass it over to Councilmember Wong for questions.
Thank you, Chip.
This is my data over here.
As of July 2026, 179 registered city contracts worth about $2.96 billion carry community hiring goals.
My question to you is, how do you identify city contracts?
That carry community hiring goals and what are you doing to reach out to the other contracts that do not have these hiring goals?
Because 179 contracts is a very small figure compared to all the contracts I've seen
in like an open data or passport?
