Harry explains decision with HRA
Harry says the 300% threshold was not decided independently; OCH worked with HRA and CBO partners to continue serving low-income populations. He notes many of the 1,200 hires are on public assistance.
As I mentioned, Chair, that was a decision that we did not independently just decide upon.
We work closely with our agency partners, particularly at HRA, who are serving a low-income population.
And we want to make sure that they can continue to serve that low-income population.
We know that of the many 1,200.
New Yorkers that many of them are on public assistance, which also just in terms of the definition are lower than that 300% level.
And so while it is a little higher, it was intentionally so based on feedback from our CBO partners and agency partners.
