Good afternoon, Majority Leader Sean Abram.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak today.
My name is Ms.
Mohamed Riyaz.
I am organizer and leader, Worker Justice Project and Los Angeles President.
I work in New York City almost three years.
Today I'm here to support
intro 0613 which would be required the DOT to install 100 miles of protected bylines every year of six years.
Recently I was involved in an accident in Brooklyn on a street which poured lightings and speed bumps.
The darkness made me difficult to see the roads clearly and I was involved in an accident.
Our stairs, our workplace.
We need support, protected bike lanes, better state to lighting, secure bike parkings, safe e-bike charging station, and resting area to the delivery worker can rest.
The city must invest in safer instruction and stand of replying to tickets and enforcement.
I urge city leaders to listen to workers and work with us to create practical solutions that protect lives.
We are not problems, we are part of solution.
We deserve safe states, dignity, and a voice in the decision that efforts
our lives.
I invite our majority leader, Shad Abram, to visit our center and work with the delivery workers.
Then you can know how the delivery workers right in New York City, how they face these problems.
So thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to talk.
Thank you.
