Williams urges council to pass Intro 511 universal daylighting
Williams urges the Council to pass Council Member Julie Won's Intro 511 for universal daylighting and stronger accountability, noting support from over 200 organizations and 23 community boards. He calls for codifying no standing or parking within 20 feet of intersections.
Specifically, I urge the council to consider and also pass a member, Councilmember Juan's bill, Intro 511, to implement universal daylighting and strengthen accountability on streets.
The daylighting...
Supported by over 200 civic streets, safety, and community organizations.
Additionally, 23 NYC community boards have passed resolutions endorsing intersection daylighting as a key measure to enhance street safety.
Enacting this bill and others will ensure that compliance is legally required and formally codified, not standing or parking within 20 feet of an intersection.
Any crosswalk while establishing mandatory and annual benchmarks for DOT, including the target numbers for hunting intersections.
Thank you.
This is a very important hearing, and I want to thank the chair again.
Thank you.
Thank you, Mr.
Public Advocate.
I would like to recognize that we've been joined by Councilmember Marte.
