Banks asks if NYCHA coordinates with new PAC management on OAC services
Banks asks if NYCHA coordinates with the new private management company to ensure OAC services are maintained post-rehabilitation. Trimble says yes, NYCHA conducts extensive outreach before conversion and connects community facilities with the incoming development team. Centers do not experience a gap in operations because they are funded by NYC Aging.
For developments undergoing PAC conversions, does NYCHA coordinate with the new private
management company to ensure that the OAC services are maintained post-rehabilitation?
Yes.
So as we do with our residents, we conduct extensive outreach and engagement prior to a conversion, and that includes making sure our partners in the development are also connected.
So if there's an OAC or a community center or any other type of community facility, we work to make sure they are connected with the incoming development team, which would be their new landlord, to make sure they understand how to escalate, how to work together, and make those connections.
The centers do not experience any gap in...
In operations as part of the PAC conversion.
Everything continues because they are funded by NYC Aging to continue to operate their services regardless of the conversion.
