Banks criticizes unclear repair responsibilities and providers paying out of pocket
Banks says lack of clear communication about NYCHA versus OAC responsibility causes delays. Some OACs pay for repairs themselves to resume services instead of waiting months for NYCHA. He appreciates NYCHA's stated efforts but says actions must deliver.
Further compounding this issue is the lack of clear communication on what is NITRA's responsibility versus what is the OAC's responsibility.
for facility management, leading to additional delays.
And it has gotten to the point where the older adult centers result to paying for repairs out of their own pocket
just to resume providing their services to the community instead of waiting on NYCHA for more months.
You know, I'm aware that NYCHA is endeavoring to improve its operations, and I appreciate that we all share the same goal in providing communal benefit for NYCHA residents.
But sentiment only goes so far when actions fails to deliver.
Especially when the population impacted are our older adults, where the efforts of delays are magnified and when residents'trust is low, thanks to issues surrounding the PAC conversion process.
We must push for more clarity and transparency so that we can all be on the same page.
