Christopher Leon Johnson supports Intro 1083 and raises Wi-Fi issues
Christopher Leon Johnson supports Intro 1083 and suggests amending it to require at least 40 hours a month. He says family involvement can create vulnerabilities for older adults when money is involved. He also raises poor cell signal and Wi-Fi at NYCHA centers and asks the city to allocate capital funding for towers or boosters.
Yeah, hello, Chair Swung, Chair Hudson.
My name is Christopher Leon Johnson.
I support Intro 1083.
I want to say this right now that I think the city council need to amend that bill to make it where that is at least 40 hours a month.
I want to say this right now that the issue with that is that family, when family gets involved, it's always a problem.
You have some family members that they were aggressive, especially when coming to money, and they were telling their family member to disregard whatever the financial advisor told them to do.
That creates a big-time vulnerability to the older adult.
But I want to say this right now about the adult centers.
I know community centers is not really in the topic, but I think a big problem in these community centers is that the Wi-Fi.
I think that the bar, the signal bars at these centers are horrible.
It's like I have Metro by T-Mobile, still T-Mobile.
I think a lot of you guys have like AT&T, Verizon.
Every time you go to a nature center, the signal is trash.
And I think the city council needs to find a way to allocate some capital funding and put more tariffs on top of the buildings.
Because I do media, and it gets kind of frustrating to do media in those facilities because it's like you can't get no signal.
And it's like it gets annoying to go outside and try to get signal.
I think it's kind of annoying.
The city gets a lot of money.
For NITRA, they need to at least buy some towels.
put on top or to the point where they work with some like Lincoln YC to put like a tower right by the centers because it's abysmal.
So that's all I got to say so far.
And thank you so much.
I know you got to go.
There's like 100 people downstairs.
So thank you.
Enjoy your day.
Thank you.
