Zhuang asks about DFTA capital budget for NYCHA OACs

New York City Council · Oct 27, 2026 · starts 2:28:28 · 58 sec

Zhuang asks what DFTA's capital budget allocation was for NYCHA this year. McKenzie says DFTA does not have a capital budget and does not affect capital projects on its own. Projects come from elected officials or discretionary funds. Zhuang asks how much DFTA allocated to NYCHA OACs for capital; McKenzie says DFTA only covers minor repairs.

Susan Zhuang

And what's a DIFTA capital?

Susan Zhuang

budget allocated was NITRA this year?

Lisa Scott McKenzie

DIFTA does not have a capital budget.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

It is something because we don't affect any capital projects on our own.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

The projects that we've completed are in consultation with or

Lisa Scott McKenzie

have come from funding that comes from either elected officials or discretionary funds.

Susan Zhuang

Sorry, I mean the improvement you guys with CD give the money, how much you guys allocated to nature related?

Susan Zhuang

OACs for capital.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

As I mentioned, we're only covering minor repairs, so it would come through the budgets at the individual site for us to be able to repair something that's very, very minor.

Lisa Scott McKenzie

If it's larger than that, then we're working on projects that have been funded separately.

Susan Zhuang

Okay, thank you.

Susan Zhuang

Let's switch the gear.
