Zhuang asks what financial support DFTA currently offers older adults
Zhuang shifts to Intro 1083 and asks what financial support DFTA currently offers older adults. McKenzie says DFTA has several programs for long-term care planning, protecting retirement funds, and preventing fraud and scams. She agrees with the intent of having a financial literacy advisor at every site but needs to review implications and cost.
We have some questions about YINCHO 1083.
What financial support does DFTA currently offer older adults in New York City?
Are there any programs currently?
I know you mentioned that you have one program before.
Well, we have several programs that help train our older New Yorkers and provide assistance to them for
long-term care planning and things like that, as you mentioned, that can help them to protect their funds in retirement and also just to protect
them from being defrauded and scammed and so on.
So we do have some of those programs available now.
We do also agree with the intent of having a financial literacy advisor at every one of the sites.
We just need to review the implications of that.
What would it take to actually provide that at all of the sites and what would be the cost?
