Zhuang asks if critical repair initiative can fund Latimer Gardens OAC

New York City Council · Oct 27, 2026 · starts 2:25:16 · 43 sec

Zhuang notes the FY27 executive budget added $20 million for critical repair initiative and $10 million for mold and leak complaints. She asks if that money can be used for Latimer Gardens OAC. Trimble says no, those allocations are for apartment repairs, not OAC capital improvements. Zhuang says it does not make sense given earlier testimony.

Susan Zhuang

Okay, similarly in FY27 executive budget, the administration added 20 million FY27 to FY30 for critical repair initiative, and 10 million over this year, and then

next year to addressing long outstanding mold and leak complaints.

Susan Zhuang

Is this money able to use for the Timir Garden OAC, this type of repair?

Eva Trimble

No, those allocations, which we're very grateful for, are significant funding that's going to help us make progress on old repairs, both mold and leaks and others, in apartments.
