Chair Farías gives public testimony rules and calls first panel
Farías reminds the public to observe decorum, limits testimony to two minutes, and explains how to submit written testimony. She calls the first panel: Hannah Mae Powers, Isabel Seta, Jillian Mazalewski, and Rachel Bronstein.
We're now going to head and open the hearing up for public testimony.
I remind members of the public that this is a government proceeding and that decorum shall be observed at all times.
Members of the public shall remain silent unless called upon to testify.
All testimony must be relevant to today's hearing on maternal health and criminal justice.
If remarks stray from the subject matter, speakers will be reminded of the topic and asked to refocus their comments by me as chair.
The witness table is reserved for people who wish to testify.
No video recording or photography is allowed from the witness table.
Further, members of the public may not present audio or video recordings as testimony, but may submit transcripts of such recordings to the sergeant at arms for inclusion in the hearing.
If you wish to speak at today's hearing, please fill out an appearance slip at the Sergeant at Arms desk and wait to be recognized.
When recognized, you will have two minutes to speak on today's oversight topic and or legislation.
If you have a written statement or additional written testimony you wish to...
to submit for the record, please provide a copy of that testimony to the Sergeant at Arms.
You may also email your written testimony to testimony at council.nyc.gov within 72 hours of this hearing.
Audio and video recordings, again, will not be accepted.
As a reminder to all of our witnesses, please state your name prior to your testimony for the record.
If anyone here today requires an accessible version of the presentation given at today's hearing, please email testimony at council.nyc.gov.
And I will now call the first panel.
Hannah Mae Powers, Isabel Seta, Jillian Mazalewski, Rachel Bronstein.
