Chair Hudson questions DHS on complaint resolution and provider evaluations
Hudson asks what counts as resolved and average days. DHS says the shelter director must respond with the next step, average resolution is five days. DHS says it does not incorporate complaint data into provider performance evaluations or RFP scores.
Does DHS review and incorporate data about complaints and provider performance evaluations or RFP proposal scores?
No.
Okay, and then I think it was the commissioner who said the data you collect, or maybe it was you, Deputy Commissioner, apologies, I don't remember who it was specifically, but the data you collect on the placement of families, this is in regards to Intro 99.
The data you collect on the placement of families with children is by borough, but boroughs are very large.
Would it not be more useful to collect zip code level data as contemplated by this bill?
I think the bill does two different things.
The bill changes the geography at which the data is reported, but it also changes the data.
I think we would be interested in the course of working with council and the sponsor on both pieces of that, but I think...
Having coherence in the actual measure is important to us.
So I think we would prefer to keep the measure that's in the mayor's management report.
But if a lower level of geography is, but I guess that doesn't work because we're reporting on the school district of the last.
So you understand what the current MMR is.
At the end of the day, yes, we collect these data, and I think I did respond to that,
and understand, I think, what the council is trying to do and understand this better, but just some additional dialogue, I think, about
making sure that we're not running at different measures and also reporting at a level of geography and specificity that is helpful to the public.
Okay.
Thank you.
Okay.
Thank you all very much for your testimony and all of your answers to our questions.
