Chair Hudson thanks staff and introduces first public panel

Thank you so much, Public Advocate.

I look forward to hearing from the administration and the public about these proposals.

And I'd like to conclude by thanking the committee staff for their work on this hearing.

Hannah Cohn, Penina Rosenberg, Justin Campos, Farida Rahman, Elizabeth Childers-Garcia, Julia Haramis, Colby Porter, and Maggie Giordano.

I'd also like to thank my staff, Andrew Wright, Elika Runtan, and Demi Brown.

Before we hear testimony from the administration, we will hear directly from a panel of individuals who have experience with New York City shelters and who have joined us here to provide testimony.

So first, we will hear from Denton Hutchinson.

After, we will hear from Janet Jackson.

And last, we will hear from Francisco Insframe.

Okay.

And we've been joined by Councilmember Nurse.

And I did fail to recognize that Councilmember Brewer was in the room early.

Okay?

Thank you.
