Dinowitz asks whether agencies know only Riverdale Press covers Northwest Bronx
Dinowitz asks whether agency marketing directors know the Norwood News is gone and only the Riverdale Press remains. Sidahmed says he cannot speak for every director but sees educating agencies as part of his role.
So in your assessment, do you think the agencies are aware that there's only one local newspaper that covers the Northwest Bronx?
That's the Riverdale Press.
Because the Norwood News is no longer there?
So I couldn't speak to their kind of understanding of all the different
marketing directors in all of the different agencies and some of them are former journalists themselves and I'm sure you know maybe worked in the Bronx themselves I wouldn't want to completely say that no marketing director in New York City government is aware of that but I do see it as my role
to help people understand the urgency of this moment and I guess I'm asking
If you're identifying your job as to work with these marketing directors in the different agencies, wouldn't it then also be part of your job to make sure they know about the closure of local media outlets?
I appreciate the question.
I appreciate the question.
Yeah, I think that...
I do agree that there is a role to be played for helping them understand the Norwood News is a critical source of information for people in the Northwest Bronx.
And if you're trying to reach people in the Northwest Bronx, it's critical to work with publications like that.
And I hope that all the different agencies.
In my time in working in this office, will have a deep fluency of all the different publications in New York and will know which publications to work with if they're trying to reach different people in different places.
And I see my role as trying to educate them and help them understand that.
