Stevens asks whether outreach to publishers has already started
Stevens asks if Sidahmed has scheduled roundtables or conversations with publishers. Sidahmed says he has spoken to about a dozen publishers and has more meetings scheduled.
Have you already started reaching out to them?
Have you scheduled roundtables and conversations with them?
Has that already started?
Yes, I've spoken to about a dozen publishers so far, and I have a number of meetings coming up in the next few weeks with other publishers, and they've been really informative.
So as I said, I'm really excited to have the way that this office functions moving forward, be informed by conversations with publications and really trying to capture the range and diversity of publications that we have.
in the city, folks who are hyper-local focused on a specific geographic region, or people who focus on a specific language group, or a specific group based on sexual orientation or disability.
And the needs of the different types of publications based on their medium and size really varies, and their relationships with MOECM in the past and what they'd like to see in the future is also quite diverse.
So I think that the goal really is to listen to as many publishers as possible and try and understand those through lines and then explain to folks how we want to work moving forward.
