Williams outlines Intros 1127, 1128, and 1129
Williams says Intro 1127 would repeal or amend 25 reporting and study provisions, Intro 1128 would create uniform default report due dates, and Intro 1129 would establish an attestation procedure for operational mandates. She thanks committee staff and her team, including Malcolm.
Having engaged with city agencies, I am proud to be the sponsor of the Good Government Bill Package being heard today.
Proposed Introduction 1127B will repeal or amend 25 provisions of the Charter and Administrative Code requiring certain reports and studies.
Introduction 1128 will create a uniform default reporting due date system for agency reports.
And Introduction 1129 will establish a procedure to be proscribed by the Speaker for how an agency will attest to the Council that it has completed operational mandates proscribed by local laws.
Taken together, these bills have us working smarter and more effectively.
They will bring efficiencies to the work this city does, and I am thankful to the chair for hearing them here today.
I want to thank the committee staff for preparing for today's hearing and to my own team for the hard work they do day in and day out.
And I love how the compliance division.
Who helped me create these talking points, didn't add a line to thank them for their hard work.
So thank you, Malcolm, for your hard work in helping to draft these bills and ensuring that the council, again, is a responsive and responsible steward of city government and making sure that we reduce unnecessary things.
So thank you so much.
