Where does the video come from?
The chapter pages stream MP4 files prepared from public NYC Council video records in a video.js player.
Are transcripts official?
No. Benchmark transcripts are generated from public captions and may contain errors. Official transcripts can arrive later through Legistar and may be used for future correction passes.
Why do some speakers say “Speaker”?
The benchmark data does not include the future diarized, named-speaker ASR output. The site preserves the schema and timestamp behavior now, then can display names when the pipeline produces them.
Transcription errors
Automated captions and ASR can mishear names, legislation numbers, and fast exchanges. Use the video timestamp as the source of truth when precision matters.
