Chair Stevens Inquires About Summer Rising Close-Out and Transition
Chair Althea Stevens asks about the close-out process for Summer Rising and how DYCD is coordinating transitions between outgoing and incoming CBOs.
And just even thinking about the summer, because I know you brought up summer.
So as we're thinking about Summarizing, just going to record again, everybody knows I don't like that program.
Anyway, I just always have to say it.
But um anyway, wanting to think about the providers who would be running and operating Summerizing and then not having a whole site going back and moving forward.
Um what's the plan around what?
Does DYCD plan to support those providers who programs are closing out like right after that?
And and also just kind of considering what the morale for some of these programs are going to be for this summer and closing out.
So I I think it uh thank you, Chair.
Uh it's a good question because there's two parts to this, right?
There is the contracting close out process, but we want to make this process as humane as possible.
So our teams will be coordinating with those CBOs to have conversations on the process itself from the contracting side from the financial side, and also that transition between CBO to CBO, uh, coordinating general transition um meetings between CBOs, connecting with school leaders and community to again really emphasize like this is not just about the contract, it's about the people on the site as well.
