Council Member Bottcher Questions Manhattan Youth Reinstatement and Hudson Guild Support
Council Member Erik Bottcher asks if DYCD will consider reinstating Manhattan Youth and how the agency plans to address the funding gap left at Hudson Guild in Chelsea.
Oh quite back to my problem my question.
If if kids don't show up, say after the first week, should the next person move up?
Uh is that happening?
It's how automatically and does DYCD reaches out or the school reaches out.
Oh so both the school and CBO have access to the same wait list.
So either school or CBO will be doing some engagement as the list moves.
So if they're not receiving a call, unfortunately, that may mean that the list hasn't moved up to the next person.
Okay, there's also that.
So thank you.
Okay.
Um, quick question.
Quick city or state, right?
The two hundred and forty-six million for SYEP, is that primarily city funds or states.
It's uh primarily city funding, um, with a small allocation of TANEF funding from the state.
Because uh I as I recoil SYEP is historically gets state funding or am I wrong here?
The scale of the state funding is very small in comparison to the amount of city tax levy that we have funding the program.
Okay I see it's it's so successful I think it should the size of SYEB should increase and I haven't seen I have I don't see that happening so please look into that.
Thank you.
Okay Councilmember Wilson followed by Banks.
