Linda Lee

Thank you.

Linda Lee

Thank you so much.

Linda Lee

It's a very thoughtful suggestion, so we appreciate it.

UNKNOWN

Can I get one more of your sheets?

UNKNOWN

Yes.

UNKNOWN

For the record.

Linda Lee

Okay, and next we have, wait, this one.

Linda Lee

Okay.

Linda Lee

Faisal Yusufu, Lami Yusuf, and Mamalo Yusufu.

Linda Lee

If you guys are here.

Linda Lee

Some of them left.

Linda Lee

Okay.

Linda Lee

Okay, if anyone else is here that did not sign up, if you guys could raise your hands.

Linda Lee

Okay, so if there's no one else, we're going to move over to our Zoom.

Linda Lee

There's one or how many folks?

Linda Lee

Two?

Linda Lee

One.

Linda Lee

Three.

Linda Lee

Okay.

Linda Lee

There's three folks on Zoom.

Linda Lee

Oh, you had to test it.

Linda Lee

Oh, yeah.

Linda Lee

Okay, yeah, if you want to come to the front, and then we'll get your information afterwards.

Linda Lee

If you could just state your name and where you're from.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

My name is Steven Toro.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I live at Tracy Towers.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

And as we talked about before, our management brought in the city of New York, which we call HPD.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

HPD was trying to tell us that we could sign up for the SNAP program.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

It doesn't feasible for me to sign for a SNAP program because my wife still works, but I'm retired.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I'm over that $70,000 budget.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

When she files a tax return, I file with her.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

It puts me in a hole.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I can't afford to go back to work.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I'm disabled.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I'm going to lose my apartment because my wife can't make more money than what she's making now.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

So this band-aid that they offer us, I don't need it.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I don't want it.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

Give it to somebody less fortunate, but help our building.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

That's all I ask.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I'm not begging for a handout.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I'm just saying work with us.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I remember when I was young that I worked with organizations to help bring back our community.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

I was known as a tenant organizer for Bronx Neighborhood Community Corporation.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

Phase one of the Bronx system, two, three, and four.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

We rebuilt all abandoned buildings.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

We took...

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

unemployed workers from the street to rebuild these built-up buildings back in the 70s into the 80s.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

Why can't we do that now?

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

We don't need HPD.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

HPD is a band-aid.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

It's a systemic problem for our city.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

It should be taken out.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

That's all I have to say.

Linda Lee

Thank you.

Member of the Public - Steven Toro

Thank you.

Linda Lee

Thank you so much.

Linda Lee

Okay, so I don't know if there's anyone else seeing.

Linda Lee

I think that's everyone who's here in person.

Linda Lee

We're going to move to...

Linda Lee

Wait, what is this?

Linda Lee

Okay.

Linda Lee

Oh, okay, okay.

Linda Lee

Got it.

Linda Lee

We're going to move over to Zoom, and I believe we have Sam Moskowitz.

Linda Lee

Oh, wait, hold on.

Linda Lee

I'm so sorry.

Linda Lee

There's something I'm supposed to read beforehand.

Linda Lee

My bad.

Linda Lee

So thank you to all who came here to share your thoughts and experiences.

Linda Lee

If there is, oh, yeah, this one.

Linda Lee

Anyone in the chamber?

Linda Lee

Yeah.

Linda Lee

The hearing room who has not spoken but wishes to speak.

Linda Lee

And not had the opportunity to do so, please raise your hand, fill out the card as this gentleman did.

Linda Lee

And going over to Zoom, if you're currently on Zoom and wish to speak but have not yet had the opportunity to do so, oh wait, so we have one or two folks on.

Linda Lee

And for folks that are on that maybe have not signed up, if you could just raise your hand as well so we can make sure to capture you, that would be great.
