Marte asks about Parks' engagement with property owners. Alderson says required letters were sent to all owners, with some feedback including one potentially interested owner on Queens Boulevard whose property is up for sale, and one not interested. She notes the city cannot make an offer until after ULURP approval.
And to what extent has New York City Parks engaged property owners of these sites as part of the development of this proposal?
We have been required to send letters to each property owner based on community city records.
Before every hearing for the Euler process, we have gotten some feedback, not too much, but some one property owner potentially interested, another property owner not interested.
So we've had a little bit of feedback, but we have done those required letters to the owners.
And then should the ULERP be approved, we have plans to reach out to the owners to gauge whether they might be interested and will follow up.
And we've laid out a process with the City Planning Commission how to do that outreach.

And so I think you kind of answered my next question.
Is New York City Parks in discussion with any of these property owners to acquire their sites in the immediate future?
You mentioned one that's interested.
Can you tell us a little bit about that conversation as much as you can?
Yeah, for this property owner, I don't want to give specifics, but it's on Queens Boulevard, and they are potentially interested.
Their property is up for sale.
They are not really familiar with the city's acquisition process, so that was part of the conversation.
But they wanted to just...
you know, keep in touch with how the process unfolds.
We can't really engage with a property owner until after the ULERP is approved and, you know, for the city to make an offer, that kind of thing.
So there was that, that was the conversation with that particular property owner.
