Council Member Hanif recognizes departing staff and summer interns

I want to express gratitude for the many everyday New Yorkers who have dedicated themselves to the people of District 39 in our office.

We said goodbye to Jackie Neitschmidt this summer, who starts at the Craig Newmark School of Journalism at CUNY this fall.

This is also the last stated where we are joined by our brilliant legislative

fellow Anisha Upal-Sullivan.

Anisha has gone above and beyond in her role, stepping in to cover critical work in our office.

She is joining us full-time to support participatory budgeting and constituent services.

Emmett Teran, former Progressive Caucus Executive Director, has also joined my team and will serve as Senior Advisor on Legislative and Budgetary Matters.

Lastly, thank you to our passionate and curious summer interns who joined our team and supported us over the past few months.

Sada Afroz, Ronan Shatsky, So Tun, Ezra McNally were incredibly helpful to our team and covered everything from constituent services, land use, creating social media content, to naming bills.

Thank you for choosing public service and contributing your talents to the city and its great people, and good luck on your next chapter.
