Riley questions FDNY data on fire and medical calls during outage
Riley asks if there's data on how many affected calls were fire or medical emergencies. FDNY responds they only know about calls transferred to them and are analyzing a list from OTI of callers who had issues and called back. They confirm there were no active fires that day.
Thank you for your question.
I'm sorry, can you just repeat that one time?
Out of the 1,700 effective calls that came in during the outage, is there any indication of how many of those were fire or medical emergencies?
So the way that it works, we're second seat in the dispatch process, so we would only know if the call actually came through to us.
We had asked OTI to provide us with a list of people that originally called, had the issue, and then called back and were able to get through, and we're in the process of analyzing those calls.
We just recently got it, so we're working on it.
Okay.
But we don't know specifically if there were any fires that took place.
There were no fires.
There were no active fires that day.
Thank you.
Okay.
Notification, Commissioner, and I apologize and just, you know, you can educate me if this doesn't happen.
