Chair Thomas-Henry questions Khan on referrals to state historic business registry and legacy business services
Thomas-Henry asks whether SBS has ever referred businesses to the state's historic business registry. Khan says SBS's legacy-specific service is the worker cooperative transition option, and notes 6,400 businesses with 20+ years of operation have benefited from SBS programs overall.
Thank you.
In terms of legacy businesses, has SBS ever referred businesses to the state's historic business registry?
So currently our legacy business services are just the same services we provide every single business with the exception that if a business owner, I'm sorry, even in that exception, it applies to every business.
If a business owner is selling their business and don't have a succession plan in place, we connect them to that opportunity of.
Having us consult them on a possible transition of sale of business to the workers of that business.
That is the primary legacy business service.
You could say that we're providing that's very specific or relates more particularly to legacy businesses, but legacy businesses benefit from a whole range of SPS services, and it's 6,400
businesses that have benefited from our program that were in operation for 20 or more years.
To our work.
