Morano Q&A: VetConnect Comptroller recommendations status
Morano asks which of the Comptroller's six VetConnect recommendations have been fully implemented, which remain outstanding, and when all six will be completed. Mata describes monitoring user experience, tracking service tickets, and incorporating public feedback.
On VetConnect, I'm sure my colleagues have a lot of questions about VetConnect, but just based on your
testimony, I definitely appreciate your acknowledgement of the controller's findings and your statement that technology should make accessing support easier and not become a barrier.
You said DVS is taking steps to strengthen performance standards, vendor accountability, and reporting.
Which of the controller's six recommendations have been fully implemented as of today, which remain outstanding, and when will all six be completed?
Thank you for the question.
As I cannot speak on the historical, per se, procurement decisions or
the context of that aspect, what I can say is that during my tenure here at DVS, I
have been regularly monitoring the VetConnect NYC user experience, tracking and following up on service tickets and incorporating public feedback.
And those are three of the recommendations as well that the comptroller recommended.
And with that, as we are doing that, I would like to also emphasize that under my tenure, we have developed the data department because data is very important for our agency.
I have a number of follow-up questions based on your testimony and a number of other
questions that the committee staff and I have worked on, but I will give Chair Caban and my colleagues an opportunity to ask some questions as well.
