Zhuang asks about culturally specific platforms like WeChat
Zhuang asks whether DFTA uses culturally sensitive platforms like WeChat or KakaoTalk, notes she has never seen SCRIE outreach on WeChat despite being active there, and urges outreach through ethnic newspapers and language-specific platforms to reach seniors who don't use Facebook or Instagram.
Do you have culturally sensitive channels?
Like people speak different language, they are in different platforms.
Did you guys do outreach there?
Like say KK Talk for Korean community.
And we each have...
Chinese community?
As you know, our partners on the ground, whether it's we saw each other recently at Homecrest for our programs, our providers are using those platforms actively.
Oh, I haven't seen any.
Sorry.
I am very active in WeChat, but I haven't seen any.
Okay.
Just let you know.
And a lot of people, if they were in an environment to only speak certain languages, they're not going to go to Facebook or Instagram.
They even don't know what Facebook or Instagram is.
So I hope you guys can really do outreach for different ethnic community, different language platform, and really, like say, Jewish community, a lot of times they only read their newspaper.
So there's different people have different needs.
Hopefully you guys really reach to those communities.
I see you guys have great translation in Chinese in Facebook, but not in WeChat.
But the Chinese speaking only seniors, they are only in WeChat, but there's no advertising there at all.
Just let you know.
