Aldebol asks about Fellowship expansion
Aldebol asks about the expansion to 400 fellows; Porter says they need to maximize the 400 positions before going back to the state for further expansion.
In August 2026, the Civil Service Pathways Fellowship Program's capacity doubled from 200 to 400 fellows.
Is that correct?
What changes does DCAS need to make to accommodate this expansion, and are there plans to expand the fellowship further?
And if so, what are those changes and plans?
So we're very proud of the Civil Service Pathway Fellowship Program.
We have seen tremendous success with administering the program across the city.
In order for us to expand the program further, it does require us to interact with the state's Civil Service Commission to develop proposals to
expand the number and we've been successful.
This is the third time that we're going back to the state to expand the program.
And so pretty much what they're looking for is that we're maximizing the number of positions that they approved previously.
And so once we get to a, you know, a place where we're fully allocating the 400 positions, we're prepared to go back to the state to continue to increase that number.
We've been joined by Councilmember Ressler.
Good morning, Councilmember.
I'm going to take a break from asking questions to see if Councilmember Ressler has any questions.
