Porter details Office of Citywide Recruitment and outreach efforts
The Office of Citywide Recruitment meets New Yorkers across all boroughs through hiring halls, career fairs, and Civil Service 101 presentations.
As for recruitment, our Office of Citywide Recruitment is focused on meeting New Yorkers where they are, across all five boroughs, and at every stage of their career journey.
You will find DCAS representatives at New York City jobs hiring halls, at career fairs, and in communities connecting directly with New Yorkers looking for work.
We also partner with city agencies to host title-specific hiring events that help address their immediate workforce needs.
These efforts connect with New Yorkers where they are, and I'm proud to say that we have engaged tens of thousands of prospective candidates across the five boroughs through these programs.
Our work isn't just about filling jobs.
We are also invested in helping New Yorkers understand how they can build a career in public service.
Throughout each year, we host civil service 101 presentations at New York City public schools, higher education institutions, with community-based organizations, and at faith-based institutions across the city,
providing practical information about how to navigate the civil service process and explore opportunities in municipal government.
We also look to connect to a wide range of audiences through multiple mediums, from direct person-to-person engagement to social media and press outreach.
