Stevens asks about corrective action plans for underperforming agencies
Stevens asks what corrective action plans the office requires when agencies underperform on MWBE goals. Garner says the city is finalizing FY results, will meet with agencies under 30%, and will work with commissioners, ACCOs, and MWBE staff.
Definitely would like to just kind of keep staying in conversation with you guys.
I have a couple more questions.
Sorry.
Oh, I still have time.
The next question I just wanted to go on to, your office is also in charge with oversight and accountability, which agencies have identified underperforming MWBs.
What specific corrective action plans has your office required for them to happen?
So if you are underperforming, what does that look like?
And have you created some steps to ensure that they're
Behaviors need to be corrected.
Yes, so we are finalizing our MWBE results from the most previous fiscal year.
That analysis will be finished towards the end of this month.
We are going to start meeting with individual agencies, sharing their data with them.
For those agencies who are under 30%, we are going to meet with the agency commissioners, their respective ACCOs, and their MWBE staff to determine what we should and could be doing in order to get them over the 30%.
Additionally, as we just indicated, we want to focus on the disparity in disparity.
Why is it that certain groups are not receiving their fair share of contracts?
And so we will be working with our agencies in a very, very short period of time.
We started those meetings, and then those meetings will continue as soon as we finalize the data for the most concluded fiscal year.
