Gutiérrez asks whether any language has unmet educator demand
Gutiérrez asks whether there is demand for early childhood educators in a language the city cannot meet. Branch says current dual-language programs have enough teachers, though demand for classes exceeds supply.
Thank you.
Is there a demand for early childhood educators that can provide instruction in a particular language that the city is currently unable to meet?
Of the many languages that you highlighted of what I think are the 3K and the pre-K programs, is there a shortage of teachers that can speak those languages?
Or that can instruct, excuse me, in those languages legally?
Across our current portfolio of dual language programs, no.
Okay.
And the same applies for early childhood specifically?
Well, specifically for early childhood education.
So we're talking about our 2K, 3K, pre-K programs.
Wonderful.
Okay.
There's no shortage.
And is there, how do you feel about the...
It's not specific to a specific language.
We do know that we have more demand than the classes that we have.
However, it's not that there is a language that is being requested that we don't have.
Is there, okay, okay.
All right, that's good.
