Kreamer promises sector breakdown and small business survey
Kreamer says the $2 billion analysis is initial and Tourism Economics will provide a sector breakdown. He says EDC will also conduct a small business survey with SBS, BIDs, and NYC Tourism to measure revenue lifts and hiring.
Yeah, a couple of points to your comments, and thank you for them.
One is the analysis that was released this morning, the $2 billion one, is an initial analysis.
There will be additional information that Tourism Economics will be sharing with us, including a breakdown by sector.
Again, it does not go down to the level that you're looking for, but we'll know lodging, retail, et cetera.
So we'll have that information.
We'll be happy to share with you all once that is available.
Second point is, as part of our contract with Tourism Economics, we are going to be conducting a survey of small businesses around the city as well.
We'll be partnering with SBS, the bids, and other groups, NYC Tourism, of course, to do that post-mortem, as you just mentioned, to find out how many people...
From the participation, how many people saw a lift in revenue, did they hire additional people, those type of questions.
So we would be pleased to work with you all to make sure that the survey gets out, because that information and data that comes back in will be really helpful for us to then help plan for 2028 for the Olympics and hopefully 2031 for the Women's World Cup.
We're also surveying the thousand or so businesses that participated in the Five Borough of the Cup program, winter special.
We only have 68 so far, but we're working on it.
So, yeah, similarly, we'd love to work with you.
We want to.
Make sure there was a return, and that's how we're going to find out.
