Chair Louis presents Park Avenue Brooklyn rezoning vote and modification
Chair Louis introduces LUs 133 and 134 for Park Avenue rezoning, describing 391 apartments with up to 101 affordable, M1-1 and M1-2 to M1-4 and R6-1 changes, and recommends removing MIH option 2.
The second vote concerns LUs 133 and 134 regarding the Park Avenue rezoning proposal in Councilmember Restless District.
Applicants consist of multiple private property owners seeking to facilitate the development of 391 apartments, community facility space, and four private schools across the city.
10 development sites.
Among the new housing to be built, up to 101 of the apartments will be permanently affordable.
The proposal involves two actions.
The first is a zoning map amendment to change the existing manufacturing M1-1 and M1-2 district to a new mixed-use district consisting of a pair of M1-4 district with a residential R6-1 district.
The second action is a zoning tax amendment to map a mandatory inclusionary housing area.
We are recommending one modification to remove MIH option two, which will ensure the affordable apartments are provided at lower rents affordable to families with household incomes at an average of either 40% or 60% AMI.
Councilmember Restless supports this application as modified.
