Caban introduces Intro 131 on intersex protections
Council Member Tiffany Caban introduces herself and thanks Chairs Nurse and Hanif for holding the hearing. She says as a New Yorker with chronic illness she is grateful for their leadership and that her bill Intro 131 protects intersex New Yorkers from discrimination.
Thank you, Chairs.
Good morning, everyone.
My name is Councilmember Tiffany Caban.
I am a Puerto Rican woman with a ponytail and glasses and wearing a beige sweater.
I want to thank Chairs Nurse and Hini for holding this important hearing on disability and discrimination.
As a New Yorker myself with chronic illness, I'm grateful for your leadership in making our city more accessible.
And I also want to thank the two of you for giving me time in this hearing for my bill, which does not neatly fit into the theme of this hearing, but which is nonetheless crucial to many New Yorkers.
