Hanif asks about active monitoring and accommodation outcomes
Hanif asks how many settlements are under active monitoring and how many New Yorkers received requested accommodations. Rivera says she will follow up on monitoring numbers, and Kamuf Ward says CCHR tracks whether matters resolved but not always the exact final accommodation.
How many settlements are currently under active monitoring?
That's a great question.
I would be happy to follow up.
I'm not sure off the top of my head.
Sorry.
Thank you.
And this is something that would be under the purview of the monitoring clerk to know?
Absolutely.
And can CCHR share how many New Yorkers with disabilities received the accommodation they requested?
In FY26?
I think we won't have that data because it's not always the accommodation that someone that's requested.
We are not tracking necessarily what the end accommodation is in all instances, but we are
tracking the kind of the cooperative dialogue, whether it was engaged, what the kind of violations of the law are, and it is part of the reasonable accommodation process that there may be a back and forth.
So the thing, even if someone succeeds at the reasonable accommodation claim, it might not be the original thing they requested.
It might be an alternative accommodation.
And do you have that data to share?
I think we can share information on how many cases involved reasonable accommodations.
I don't know we will be able to pull exactly that data.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm trying to understand from...
Someone who filed a complaint about, let's say, a ramp and by
the end of the year, some solution did happen.
And that solution,
Yeah, so we can track the matter resolved, right?
Accommodation granted or resolved in favor of the individual.
