Sherry Barnett continues on housing, documents, and mistreatment
Barnett says she is in pain and government officials are mistreating her. She describes asking for food stamps, having documents taken, waiting outside for housing help, and being treated like garbage despite having Section 8.
Please, like I said, I'm hurting because I'm tired.
My body aches every day.
These are government officials that's doing this to me.
I asked the lady, I said, do you want me to beg for the stamps because I have to feed my son?
I said, my son doesn't go outside because where we are,
It's hard.
It's like New Jack City.
Yeah.
Hard.
But he's not used to that.
I'm not used to it.
I asked for if I can get housing connect.
I have Section 8.
They laugh at me when I go there.
I have to stay outside two hours.
Why?
Why?
I'm a human being.
Why would I lie to anyone?
I mean, you treat me like garbage.
Yeah, no, and you should absolutely not be treated like garbage.
You knock me down.
Sometimes I can't even feel my feet, so I have to put them on the cold floor just to get a little friction in them.
And I'm tired.
I just want my documents.
Please.
We're going to get you back on track.
And Emmett or Fran from our teams are here.
We'll connect with you right away.
