Menin asks how victims would be compensated if an AI agent harms a New Yorker
Menin asks how victims would be compensated if a SpaceX AI agent harms a New Yorker without any employee acting negligently, and whether a small business wiped by a rogue agent would have recourse; Castillo-Madrid declines legal analysis and says SpaceX follows existing laws.
So if a SpaceX AI agent harms a New Yorker.
Without any individual SpaceX employee acting negligently, how should victims get compensated?
I wouldn't get into the legal analysis right now.
I don't believe I'm equipped to do that.
But what I will say is that we're responsible for following the law and all existing laws applied to SI.
But so, for example, would you think it's acceptable that perhaps
a small business that is devastated by a rogue agent or agents that wipes its customer database, that they have no recourse other than you keep talking about the existing laws, but that would be a complicated, expensive negligence lawsuit.
I understand.
I wouldn't want to get into hypotheticals.
What I will say is we're proud to follow existing laws and working with policymakers to make sure that we have technically feasible and useful regulations.
Okay, I'm going to pass it back over to the chair.
