New York City Council · Oct 20, 2026 · starts 0:45:10 · 53 sec

NYC Ferry uses third-party audits and contract KPIs for maintenance and safety; multiple layers ensure operator compliance.

James Wong

On the ferry side, we look through at NYC Ferry through a couple of different lenses.

James Wong

Similar to what Anton is talking about, we have several different levels.

James Wong

So there are the regulatory pieces that are national through Coast Guard and things like that.

James Wong

We also have third-party audits that we do regularly with our operator to make sure that they're abiding by all the rules and regulations and all the things that we are expecting out of them from a safety perspective.

James Wong

We also do, as part of our contract, we also have a number of key performance indicators to make sure that we are keeping a close eye.

James Wong

So everything like maintenance, do you maintain a vessel well?

James Wong

We are tracking that very closely to make sure that all planned maintenance happens in accordance with our plans.

James Wong

These are the multiple ways that we are keeping an eye on safety and operations to make sure that things are happening the way we expect them to.
