Ariola cites 700 held EMS calls and introduces 'minutes matter' alert bill
Ariola says that over the summer 700 calls were held in the EMS system due to staffing shortages. She argues Intro 990 would let New Yorkers know when help is not moments away and requires emergency notifications when FDNY EMS has more than 25 pending ambulance dispatches.
Over the summer, we saw 700 calls being held by EMS system because of a lack of staffing.
This minutes matter bill would let New Yorkers know what that system is
in the state of emergency and if you're called to 911 at the time, help is not moments away.
The Fire Committee will also hear Introduction 990 sponsored by myself, which requires the city to issue emergency notifications each time the FDNY EMS has more than 25 pending ambulance dispatches at any given time.
