Chair Riley adds to Marte's question on 100 Gold and comprehensive planning
He says 4,000 units at 100 Gold is a spot zone, and the focus should be on comprehensive planning and investment in the total community.
Thank you, Councilmember.
Going to go into Councilmember Carr, followed by Thomas Henry and Savina Brooks-Prowell.
Just one second, Councilmember Carr.
Just to add on to Chair Marte's question, I think what he's alluding to is how much is projected for 100 Gold Street?
$4,000?
$4,000.
Now, before 2021, I think besides Gowanus, we haven't achieved 4,000 units in a neighborhood plan.
And I think that's just, he's alluding to that's a spot zone and then wants to talk about a more comprehensive plan in the area.
And I think that kind of alludes to what we're trying to get at today is that the focus should not just be on the unit count within the area, but a more comprehensive plan in the area.
Because putting 4,000 people there and not making it.
making sure that you're investing in the total community and listening to all stakeholders in the community is doing a tremendous disservice to New Yorkers.
So just wanted to pinpoint that, Chair, to you.
Next, we're going to hear from Minority Leader Carr, followed by Thomas Henry and Savina Brooks-Powers, then Banks.
And we've been joined by Councilmember Lee.
